Alice Nampitjinpa (*ca. 1943)
Alice Nampitjinpa wurde östlich von Walungurru (Kintore) in Talaalpi, einem flachen Sumpfgebiet gut 500 km westlich von Alice Springs, geboren. Sie gehört der Sprachgruppe der Pintupi an. Ein Onkel väterlicherseits ist der berühmte Künstler Uta Uta Tjangala (um 1920-1990), einer der Begründer der Neuen Malbewegung zu Beginn der 1970er Jahre. Lange Zeit unterrichtete Alice Nampitjinpa die Mädchen an der Schule von Walungurru (Kintore) im Tanzen und der indigenen Kultur. Später zog sie nach Ikuntji (Haasts Bluff). 1995 begann sie ihre künstlerische Karriere mit der Teilnahme am gemeinsamen Malprojekt "Minyma Tjukurrpa" von Walungurru (Kintore) und Ikuntji (Haasts Bluff). Schon im gleichen Jahr wurden ihre Werke zum ersten Mal ausgestellt; seit 1999 hatte sie neun Einzelausstellungen.
