This first monograph of the Gay'Wu Series focuses on two large-scale collaborative canvases by male and female artists of the APY (Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara) Lands, and on the Kulata Tjuta-Kupi Kupi project by artists of that same region. These major works, in which a variety of Dreaming stories that define the region converge, are cornerstones of the Fondation Opale collection, and are testimony to the continuum of culture and intimate knowledge of the land through art. All these artworks are evidence of the renewal and relevancy of Aboriginal art in contemporary times.
